Brad Pitt On Alcoholics Anonymous: ‘You Had These Men Being Honest In A Way I Had Never Heard’

Brad Pitt has opened up about his divorce from Angelina Jolie, the actor spoke about sharing his emotions in a group of men, telling the publication that it was ‘really freeing’ to ‘expose the ugly sides of [him]self.’

‘I had taken things as far as I could take it, so I removed my drinking privileges,’ the star said. ‘You had all these men sitting around being open and honest in a way I have never heard. It was this safe space where there was little judgement, and therefore little judgement of yourself.’ The Fight Club star added, ‘It was actually really freeing just to expose the ugly sides of yourself.’

In September 2016, it was announced that Jolie had filed for divorce from Pitt, having been married to the actor since 2014. The couple have six children together.

In the interview, the 55-year-old also said he 'bonged himself into oblivion' to deal with the superstardom that followed 1991's _Thelma & Louise. '_In the ’90s, all that attention really threw me,' he admitted. 'It was really uncomfortable for me, the cacophony of expectations and judgments. I really became a bit of a hermit and just bonged myself into oblivion.'
