Model of the moment Bella Hadid has the world at her feet, as she conquers runway after runway in her stride and her face continues to frequent every major fashion publication on the newsstands.

But in November 2016 it was reported that the model had broken up with boyfriend The Weeknd (aka Abel Tesfaye) after dating for a year and a half.

According to People, the split was due to the singer needing time to promote his new album Starboy as the couple’s hectic schedules quickly became ‘too hard to coordinate’.

And now the model has spoken out for the first time since their split.

In a recent interview with Teen Vogue Bella opened up about the iconic moment she walked past her ex when he performed at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

“As an outsider, you might think I handled it so well, but it’s always in your heart, and you always feel it very heavily,” she admitted. “It’ll be hard for a while. Love hurts, but you have to pull through.”

But it was recently reported that The Weeknd had been spotted kissing Bella’s friend Selena Gomez before they went public with their relationship during a romantic getaway in Italy. Bella was quick to unfollow Selena on Instagram in light of the news but still seems to remain on good terms with her ex.

“I’ll always respect him, and I’ll always love him,” she admitted. “Sometimes you want to be sad about it or handle it differently, but at the end of the day, you never want to burn a bridge that you’ve fought so hard to build.”
