As the daughters of a Palestinian Muslim (father Mohamed Hadid) it is no surprise that Gigi and Bella Hadid joined the #NoBanNoWall protest in New York over the weekend.

The march was in response to President Donald Trump's controversial new immigration policy that sees nationals from seven Muslim-majority countries barred from entering the United States. He has also placed a ban on Syrian refugees coming to the country.

Fellow protest-goers shared images of the sisters getting enthusiastically involved in the event, as the pair proudly held a sign that read: 'We are all Hindus, Buddhists, Muslims, Atheists, Christians, Jews' spelling out 'HUMANS' in acrostics.

Gigi also showed support for the Women's March the day after Trump's Inauguration, Tweeting: 'So inspired by the incredible & unique humans in this world everyday. Thank you for beautifully demonstrating how to put gender, race, religion aside & come TOGETHER for what is right.'
