Bella Hadid Apologises For Fyre Festival ‘Disaster’

It was tipped to be the new Coachella but celebrity-endorsed Fyre Festival quickly turned into the real life Hunger Games according to guests.

The event promised an elite festival on a deserted island in the Bahamas and boldly, perhaps naively, promised to be the ‘cultural experience of the decade’.

But the highly-anticipated event was postponed by the company on the opening day, leaving festival-goers bitterly disappointed.

After paying between $1,500 and $12,000 for an exclusive ticket, guests arrived to discover a lack of food, half-built relief tents described as ‘luxury villas’ and a lack of electricity.

Many took to social media to complain about the disastrous event, some describing it as the millennial equivalent to ‘Lord of the Flies’.

But the highly-anticipated event was surprisingly promoted by the Insta-famous, even before the music line-up had been announced. Squad members, Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Hailey Baldwin and Emily Ratajkowski all took to the social media platform to heavily promote the festival. But when the weekend came around, none of them could be seen at the event.

And this morning, Bella Hadid spoke out for the first time following the disastrous event.

The model of the moment addressed her fans on Twitter with an apologetic note stating:

"Hey guys, I just want to address Fyre Festival... Even though this was not my project what so ever, nor was I informed about the production or process of the festival in any shape or form, I do know that it has always been out of great intent and that they truly wanted all of us to have the time of our lives."

She continued: "I hope everyone is safe and back with their families and loved ones."

Despite the backlash, the company promises to go ahead with the festival next year.
