Announcing a pregnancy on social media can be quite the precarious event, so easy is it to fall into the cliched or cringe poses and captions. Alas, Ashley Graham just demonstrated the cutest way to announce a pregnancy as she revealed her and husband Justin Ervin are expecting their first child.
Posting a video with Justin, the couple can be seen trying to position the camera perfectly, bickering adorably about the best angle, only for the person recording to move backward and reveal Ashley’s bump. ‘Surprise!’ the couple shout as Justin rubs Ashley’s stomach.
‘Nine years ago today, I married the love of my life,’ Ashley captioned the video on Instagram, ‘It has been the best journey with my favorite person in the world! Today, we are feeling so blessed, grateful and excited to celebrate with our GROWING FAMILY! Happy anniversary, @mrjustinervin ❤️ Life is about to get even better. 😘’
Naturally, everyone is going wild about the pregnancy announcement – including a whole host of the couples famous friends. ‘Bitch oh my gosh,’ Lizzo replied, ‘That baby gon be so purdy.’ ‘I watched it over ten times!!! Congratulations you both,’ fellow model Jillian Mercado commented.
But the sweetest reaction has been from fans of Ashley who feel validated in their own decision to wait for children. Having been together for ten years and married for nine, Ashley and Justin certainly didn’t bow to the pressure many new couples feel to have children straight away. ‘See no rush – my beautiful Ashley waited 9 years’, one fan commented tagging her friends.
With Justin also posting a picture of the pair in which they share their baby’s sonogram, fans are also flooding his comments with support for the expansion of their family. ‘To my forever love and my daily inspiration. Happy anniversary @ashleygraham,’ he captioned the post, ‘These 9 years have played out like a lifetime. I guess it’s because my life really started once you came into it. Now that we’ve made a life together, let’s make a life together. I love you and I love us. All of us...’
