She was the freshest new face on the front row at London Fashion Week in February, with stylish appearances at key shows like Topshop, House of Holland and Mulberry. Now, Anais Gallagher has landed her first major fashion campaign.
The 16-year-old daughter of Noel Gallagher and Meg Matthews has joined forces with Reebok Classic as the new face of the brand’s Vector collection, which reimagines the sports aesthetic of the ‘90s in signature red, white and blue. Who better to bring a ‘90s classic into the twenty-first century than the daughter of a true ‘90s icon?
Anais is joined in the campaign by musician and Game Of Thrones star Raleigh Ritchie, and revealed that she was ‘thrilled’ to land her first campaign.
‘I really love the Vector range from Reebok Classic. It has such a ‘90s vibe, it’s dope! I am thrilled to be part of the Reebok family,’ she said.
We’ll be watching this space for Anais’ next move very closely indeed, but for now, here’s your need-to-know on the rising star…
How old is Anais Gallagher?
Anais was born on 27th January 2000, meaning that she’s still studying for her GCSEs, and you’re officially ancient.
Who are Anais’s parents?
She’s the daughter of Oasis co-frontman Noel Gallagher and interior designer-slash-Kate Moss-BFF Meg Mathews, meaning that she’s basically the princess of the Primrose Hill set.
Her parents divorced in 2001, and Anais lives with her mum in North London, but apparently Noel is always on hand to help out with homework. Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Anais explained ‘My dad is really into World War 1 and 2. He is the most crazy history fanatic – he knows everything. I don’t know if I could ask him for help with maths or English but when I’m writing a history essay, he’s the one to go to.’ We don’t know about you, but we’re quite enjoying the thought of Noel sitting down with a copy of Anthony Beevor’s latest WW2 tome after a night on the town with Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell.
Her modelling career so far
With genes like hers, it was almost inevitable that Anais would make a foray into modelling. She was signed by Select Model Management just before her 12th birthday in 2012, joining the likes of Agyness Deyn, Irina Shayk, Pixie Geldof and Natasha Poly. Unlike most aspiring models, though, her first shoot was with none other than legendary photographer Mario Testino. Anais has since bagged campaigns for Accessorize and shoots for Teen Vogue and Love magazine- and judging from her front row appearances at fashion week, it seems like some high profile partnerships could be on the horizon.
Anais first cover shoot was with L'Officiel Paris - whose Dutch sister title chose Lottie Moss as a cover girl earlier this month.
While Noel isn't overly keen on her career in the spotlight, he's still supportive of his daughter. Speaking to The Telegraph last year, the Britpop star said: 'It's not something I would have chosen for her. But as it's been allowed to happen, you've got to support them, haven't you? I don't see the harm in it.' That's about as warm and fuzzy as the famously brusque singer gets, so we think that deserves an 'Awwww.'
Anais on screen
As well as making waves in the fashion industry, Anais also has a sideline in TV as one of the teen presenters of CBBC show Friday Download - think Live and Kicking for the 1D generation. The multi-talented youngster heads up the fashion and beauty segment of the programme, titled 'Style Download.' Way cooler than our Saturday paper round...
