Thanks to a fortuitously timed trailer showing off the electric on-screen chemistry of its stars Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard, wartime drama Allied has become one of this year's most anticipated film releases.

Set in the war-torn Europe of the 1940s, Pitt and Cotillard play an American intelligence officer and a French resistance fighter, who must pretend to be a married couple as part of a covert plot to assassinate the German ambassador. The pair go on to fall in love and move to Blitz-stricken London to start a family but the spectre of espionage isn't easy to shake off, and one half of the couple might be living a double life.

In a new clip exclusive to Grazia, we see Max (Pitt) and Marianne (Cotillard) undertaking target practise in the sand dunes of Casablanca ahead of their assassination mission - with Marianne shrugging off Max's assistance to prove that she is quite the expert markswoman. Watch them in action below...

Starring alongside Pitt and Cotillard are The Crown's Jared Harris, Lizzy Caplan and Matthew Goode.

The full-length trailer for Robert Zemeckis' period thriller arrived online just hours after news broke that Pitt's wife Angelina Jolie would be filing for divorce. Given the film's echoes of Mr and Mrs Smith (the film which notoriously brought Pitt and Jolie together), both stars were quick to debunk any rumours of a third party, with Marion taking to Instagram to post a statement.

Allied arrives in cinemas on 25th November
