If new reports are to be believed, then this year's Shanghai extravaganza could mark the last Victoria's Secret Fashion Show appearance for veteran angel Alessandra Ambrosio.
According to Fashionista, a handful of Victoria's Secret fan accounts and anonymous fashion blogger IMONATION are reporting that the 2017 show will be the last time the 36-year-old Brazilian model will walk the runway for the brand.
Alessandra and Victoria's Secret are yet to comment on or confirm these rumours, and yesterday the star appeared on the brand's official Instagram account as she joined fellow models Elsa Hosk, Martha Hunt and Lily Aldridge (along with 51 others) to scope out the 2017 show venue.
The road to this year's Victoria's Secret show certainly hasn't been without event. First, it was reported that four models (Julia Belyakova, Dasha Khlystum, Irina Sharipova and Kate Grigorieva) had been denied visas by the Chinese government; shortly after, fan favourite Gigi Hadid took to Twitter to confirm that she would no longer be able to travel to Shanghai (due to rumoured issues with her visa following the social media backlash around a racially insensitive Snapchat video).
Katy Perry, who had been slated to perform, was also hit by visa issues and no longer features in the show's line-up; instead, entertainment will come courtesy of Harry Styles, Miguel, Jane Zhang and Leslie Odom Jr. Various media outlets and bloggers have also reportedly found it difficult to acquire Chinese visas ahead of the show.
Alessandra has a long-standing relationship with Victoria's Secret, and is widely considered one of the best known and best loved Angels. She first appeared in the brand's 2005 show, and was shortly after revealed as the first spokesmodel for VS's PINK line.
She has been chosen to wear the infamous 'Fantasy' bra twice, and in 2011 made show history when she wore the heaviest wings ever designed for the event (at 30lb) - while pregnant with her second child.
