The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is fast approaching, set to take place in Shanghai on November 20th, so it’s no surprise that rumours are beginning to swirl regarding the finer details of 2017’s unabashedly OTT runway extravaganza. Specifically, we’re asking: who’ll be performing on the night?
Last year’s event saw Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga and The Weeknd serenade the Angels in Paris, with the latter providing a memorable moment as he came face to face with his ex-girlfriend, Bella Hadid, in the middle of his performance. While Victoria’s Secret are yet to officially confirm the musical line-up for 2017, the online rumour mill has gone into overdrive and fixed upon three names: Katy Perry, Miguel and Harry Styles.
Should the rumours prove true, the Shanghai event will be the Victoria’s Secret debut for both Miguel and the former One Direction star; Katy Perry, meanwhile, performed hits like ‘Firework,’ ‘California Girls’ and ‘Hot N Cold’ at the 2010 show (she was joined by Akon. How times change…)
It was previously reported that Taylor Swift could be set to return to perform for the third time, in the wake of the release of her sixth studio album reputation, but those particular whispers have since faded out, leaving us to imagine just what a Perry-Swift-Styles VS showdown would look like.
None of the musicians have yet spoken out about this potential high profile gig, but fans of Styles and Perry have noticed that both singers have convenient gaps in their touring schedules around the time of the show. Here’s hoping that Harry has already picked out a nice Gucci ensemble to mark the occasion.
This year’s show will see Karlie Kloss return to the Victoria’s Secret runway after a two year break; she’ll be joining veteran Angels like Alessandra Ambrosio, Adriana Lima and Lily Aldridge, while Lais Ribeiro will wear the $2 million Fantasy Bra.
