I'm A Celebrity star AJ Pritchard’s girlfriend Abbie Quinnen has said that a hitman was offered £20,000 to kill her. Abbie, who is also a dancer, claimed someone advertised for a hitman on the dark web, offering £20,000 to have her killed while she was starring alongside the ex-Strictly pro in panto (Peter Pan in Dunstable).
The 23-year-old told The Sun that the hitman was also given a list of dates when she would be performing, including when she was on AJ's dance tour AJ Live - but that the police were never able to track down who was behind the threat.
Abbie, who has been dating AJ for a year and a half, says she was alerted of the threat by a friend. The dancer told the paper: 'It was the scariest thing that has ever happened to me.'
'I didn’t know what to do,' she added. 'I told AJ. He was like, "I can’t believe this is happening!". My heart literally dropped and I remember my legs were shaking.'
'You honestly see this stuff on movies and you never would expect it to happen to you,' she continued. 'We went to the police. My family were shocked too. I did play it down to them slightly as I didn’t want them to come running to where I was.'
She also added that she still gets death threats on her photos on Instagram (her account is now private) adding: 'I’ve had a few comments on my pictures where people write, "Die". "I hate you" and "Why are you still here?" Honestly, it’s the worst thing as I actually do read them, which is bad as AJ tells me not to.'
