She can reduce grown adults to quivering wrecks with her ballads about failed relationships and lost love, but outside of the recording studio, Adele’s love life is in a much happier place right now. She’s been in a relationship with Simon Konecki since 2011, and the pair share a three-year-old son, Angelo.

If you were blessed with tickets to the 25 world tour, you’ll know that for the finale of each concert, the crowd is showered in pieces of white confetti, each of which bears tiny hand-written lyrics from Adele’s best-loved songs. Performing in Nashville on Monday night – which also happened to be the couple’s fifth anniversary – the singer received the most perfect surprise to mark the occasion when her boyfriend decided to swap the white confetti for pink love notes. Each bore a hand-written message like ‘I love you,’ ‘Happy Anniversary!’ and ‘You are an angel.’ Sob.

As she performed ‘Rolling In The Deep,’ Adele caught on to her partner’s stunt, exclaiming ‘We’ve got pink confetti tonight!’

At a concert on Saturday night, the singer told her audience that she would be trying for a second child once her world tour is finished. ‘My son is about to turn four very, very soon,’ she said. ‘I’m starting to get very emotional about it because I feel like once they turn four, they’re not really your actual baby anymore.’

‘So my womb is starting to ache a little bit. It’s like, “Baby, baby, baby. Need a baby, need a baby. I’m not pregnant. I won’t get pregnant until the end of the tour.'
