Jennifer Aniston has been in the mood for setting the record straight. The most recent rumour she's put to bed concerns, you guessed it, salad. In what has become one of her most groundbreaking interviews, the actress sat down with Allure to talk all things, including the viral 'Jennifer Anniston Salad'.
In a video, Jen A debunks the salad conspiracy popularised on TikTok earlier this year, claiming 'This is supposed to be the Jennifer Anniston Salad trend, which unfortunately is not my salad.'
Explaining the story behind the real Jen A salad, which she ate every day while on the set of Friends, she confirms, 'The salad was from the commissary and it was a Cobb salad that we basically butchered. It was just iceberg lettuce I believe, which has zero nutritional benefits, and chopped tomatoes, garbonzo beans... salami, crunchy turkey bacon, chicken, pecorino cheese and Italian dressing.'
It's not the first time the salad in question has caused a stirr. We can thank Courtney Cox and her interview with theLos Angeles Times for the peek into her diet. 'Jennifer, Lisa [Kudrow] and I ate lunch together every single day for 10 years,' she said. 'And we always had the same thing - a Cobb salad. But it wasn't really a Cobb salad. It was a Cobb salad that Jennifer doctored up with turkey bacon and garbanzo beans and I don't know what. She just has a way with food, which really helps. Because if you're going to eat the same salad every day for 10 years, it better be a good salad. Right?'
Right. And a good salad it was: so much so, that TikTok users have tried their hand at creating their own versions. A few ingredients have been added (feta, parsley and bulgur wheat - because it has to be a good one, right?). The result is decidedly more Middle Eastern than Cobb, but we'll allow.
A squeeze of lemon and dash of olive oil, and we might be on board. Perhaps not for 10 years, though.
