Let's talk spas. When can spas in the UK open up shop fully after lockdown? Earlier this month, hair and beauty salons opened their doors once more to customers (from Monday 12 April) after months out of action in lockdown. For spas though, the situation isn't quite as simple. Here's everything you need to know about how and when spas will be reopening for the first time since the start of lockdown 3.0:
Stage 1: Treatments Resume
Spas were able to open across England from 12 April when spas, gyms, pools, treatments and close contact services in general resumed. This means that many spas are able to operate as normal. The limits? You can't book in for a spa stay as domestic stays in England are only permitted on and after 17 May 2021. Then there's the sauna factor. If a day at the spa isn't complete, in your opinion, without a sauna or steam room session then you'll have to hold on until 17 May. Until then saunas and steam rooms are out of bounds at spas across England.

Stage 2: Stays, Saunas And Steam Rooms
As of 17 May 2021, spas and the ultimate spa experience will be back on the cards. You'll be able to book to stay overnight (as long as you're staying with members of your own household) and you'll be permitted entry to the spa's sauna and steam room facilities once more too. Yes, you'll be required to wear a face mask in certain areas and anti-bacterial hand gel will be offered up at every turn, but spa stays are set to be back on the table from 17 May and we simply can't wait.

When can I book in for a spa weekend in England?
The ultimate question! Yes, spas might have opened their doors again from 12 April but to book a spa weekend (ie. an overnight stay) you'll lave to wait until 17 May and ensure you're staying with members of your household only.
