It's my desert island beauty buy

The pursuit of great skin seems never-ending – we’re dunking our faces in bowls of ice, drinking two litres of water each day and investing in all kinds of lotions and potions in the hope that the face that peers back at us looks a little bit fresher than it did the day before – and that’s only the tamest of skin-boosting rituals. But, after years as a beauty journalist, I’ve narrowed my skincare routine down to only a handful of items that actually work and Medik8’s C-Tetra Luxe is one of my non-negotiables.

Packed with 14% stabilised vitamin C (tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate), it works to reduce the damage caused by the sun, pollution and other external stressors while naturally boosting collagen levels in the skin. This means it visibly reduces fine lines and wrinkles, boosts skin radiance and makes dark spots appear less obvious. Plus, I’ve noticed it really works wonders on minimising my acne scarring.

The downside, however, is that it is pretty expensive, costing £59 for around 30ml – although that does last me around three to four months when using it every day. So spying it in the Amazon Spring Sale is quite exciting as it’s currently 20% off, making now the time to try it if you’re tempted. And, I promise, you should be.

Medik8 C-Tetra Luxe
Price: $47.19 (was £59)

The luxury skincare product is packed full of antioxidants to boost skin radiance and reduce fine lines.

To apply, I add a few drops onto my face and neck each morning after splashing my face with cold water (or cleansing if it’s been a particularly warm night) and quickly massage in. Then, I layer my sunscreen on top and add make-up if I’m heading out of the house. Simple. Plus, the brand claims it works for (almost) every skin type, too.

Vitamin C aside, you’ll also find squalane and vitamin E, which work to boost moisture levels in the skin, Maracuja oil that is packed with nutrients to nourish, and red ginseng, which helps to brighten, giving us that all-important glow. So, you really don’t need much else in the mornings to give your skin all the TLC it needs.

So, now I’ve shared my secret to great-feeling skin - you're welcome - feel free to snap up the saving, but don’t wait too long as the Amazon Spring Sale savings end at midnight tonight. If you’re looking to make the most of the discounts, be sure to take a look at our other Grazia-loved suggestions: L’Oreal’s Glotion, Paula’s Choice’s Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant, and Fino’s Premium Touch Hair Mask, included.
