Love Island Beauty Routines Revealed: How The Islanders Get Ready For Bed

The drama's great and all, but what about the beauty routines? We reveal the cleansing steps the islanders stick to before hitting the hay...

We love ourselves a a bit of beauty sleep prep and, though we live for all that fire pit drama, our skincare-obsessed eyes are most alert when the Islanders start to get ready for bed. Last night's episode saw Paige and Finn enter the Hideaway, so that involved a whole new routine in itself. We can't keep up.

Hideaway Prep

While the girls were settling down for the night and itching to grab a makeup wipe, Paige had slipped into something far less comfortable and was setting about curling her hair. There's nothing like a midnight revamp. Finn, too, had hopped into the cubicle next to the 'Steamy' neon sign for a late night shower. Post-team hug with the boys, he turned his attention to Paige and they both headed off in search of that petal-strewn bed.

The Cleanser

We were pleased to see Rebecca and the rest of the Love Island ladies bucking the historical Love Island trend for a good scrub with a face wipe (although we have spotted Shaughna indulging in the odd one. Fingers crossed it's biodegradable), instead opting for Garnier Natural Aloe Extract Cleansing Milk, £12, and a few cotton pads. There's also a well-used bottle of Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water, £4.99, on the side, signalling this has been a go-to take-the-day-off option for the Islanders too.

Both are a much kinder-to-skin option, while cotton pads are far better for the environment, providing they are biodegradable and sourced sustainably.

The Hair

Sophie can sometimes be seen plaiting her hair before bed. A wise choice, as many hairdressers will tell you that its a much more hair friendly way of keeping it out of your face during the night than tying it up in a bun. A bun on top of your head involves twisting a good length of hair, and putting pressure on one side of it, which can lead to breakage. If you ever notice that one side of your head has more hair than the other, it's likely that this is a reason.

Feel Good Beauty-Prep According To Shaughna

And let's end with some sage advice straight from one of the Islanders' mouths. As Sophie was mourning the loss of Connor a few evenings ago at the Love Island ladies' beautifying station, Shaughna had the solution to heartache at hand. Her advice? 'A fresh pair of PJs, take your lashes off, hair up!'. Enough said.
