Pregnant? TTC? Baby just arrived? Whatever stage you're at, skincare may well (understandably) be last on your list of concerns. You want hardworking formulas; ones that deliver results, and deliver them fast. Whether they're a joy to use and help you carve out some downtime? That's a welcome bonus.
It's certainly what Gigi Hadid beelined during her pregnancy with daughter Khai back in 2020. 'When I was pregnant I moved toward really natural products,' she explained in one YouTube video. 'I used a brand called Oliveda. The brand focuses on olive tree extract. They have everything, from a cleanser, moisturiser to oils. I really enjoyed using them.'
And she's on the money: the brand focuses on kind-to-skin ingredients that nurture the skin and restore glow (which we're all in pursuit for). And it seems to be working, too. Case in point:
It's an American brand, but you can buy it on Amazon in the UK, with starting prices from £28. Note that this brand errs more on the side of 'natural' than, say, brands like The Ordinary, that place active ingredients front and centre. This brand makes use of the natural antioxidants found in - you guessed it - olives to brighten skin, as well as natural emollients like shea butter to hydrate.
Gigi praises the cleansers and moisturisers in particular, but don't overlook the brand's bodycare offering. The Harmonising Body Oil is particularly luxe: somehow fatty and rich enough to be hydrating, but also lightweight enough to melt into the skin with real ease. Use over your bump and body to take away that dry, itchy feeling that somehow comes with with growing skin.
