And now, having been completely and utterly influenced myself, I have my own Caudalie spritz sitting on the desk at Grazia this summer. Here’s why I think it’s so beloved among beauty journalists.

Inspired by the "elixir of youth" used by Queen Isabelle of Hungary, the Caudalie Beauty Elixir has been formulated as ‘a multi-purpose formula that grants instant pillow-plump luminosity.' Essentially, it's a facial spritz made with a myriad of antioxidant-rich ingredients designed to boost moisture and ‘visibly smooth and soothe while reducing the appearance of pores.’ It can be applied both over and under make-up for an instant hit of hydration.

'This is my summer complexion non-negotiable. The texture is light and non-greasy, sinking into my skin almost instantly, even after spritzing a generous dose. I find it to really cool and calm my redness, improving my texture and tone with minutes - I've been known to spritz it on the tube if I'm feeling particularly flustered! I also boast some pretty sizeable pores, and I do believe that the formulation really minimises their appearance- there's the organic balm mint to thank for that which creates a real sensation of freshness. And as for the scent? Oh, the scent! Expect an intoxicating medley of green grape, orange blossom and nourishing oils that will aid a spa-like feeling of zen.'
How we tested it
