When it comes to stocking up on those all-important skincare essentials, a supermarket may not be your first port of call. Wine? Of course! Groceries? Absolutely. But beauty? Many of us will reserve a separate shopping bag in Boots, Space NK or online beauty e-tailers where we’re totally spoilt for choice in the skincare sphere. With that being said, there is one supermarket whose very own beauty line has garnered quite the fanfare as of late. Enter: Aldi’s Lacura Skincare Range.

In 2020, the skincare range saw double digit growth and overtook Tesco as the UK’s number one retailer for own label health & beauty. ‘At Aldi, we believe in giving our customers the very best health and beauty range that stands up against leading names in the beauty industry,’ says Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi, ‘we work hard to ensure that we offer our customers premium skincare solutions that are accessible to all and we believe this sets Lacura apart from other brands.’

Ranging from 85p (yes, really) to £6.99, the team at Aldi have let us in on their best-selling beauty buys that are definitely worth ‘adding to basket’ on your next food shop. ‘Our flagship beauty products, the Caviar Day and Caviar Night Creams have gained iconic status,’ says Ashfield, ‘and have even been praised by celebrities, including beauty guru Trinny Woodall.’ At £6.99 each, the Caviar creams are said to rival those costing upwards of £200 - which explains why in 2020, one pot sold every minute. As well as the affordable price points, the products often look very, very similar to their high-end counterparts.
