This weekend Zendaya made her long-awaited return to the red carpet. On Saturday night, the 26-year-old Golden Globe winner arrived at the 54th NAACP Image Awards swathed in a show-stopping Versace dress and a bouncy shoulder-length hairstyle that sent searches of 'layered bob' soaring on Google. A day later Zendaya stepped out for the SAG Awards and her glam paid homage ’60s make-up trends.
Zendaya complemented her sugar-pink custom-made Valentino Haute Couture gown with a monochrome make-up look, one that saw a similar shade swept across her lips, eyes, and cheekbones. The pièce de résistance? Zendaya's doll-like lashes that bore more than a striking resemblance to the same look supermodel Twiggy made iconic nearly six decades ago.
Her modern take on the look is softer. We're waiting for Zendaya's go-to make-up artist Raoul Alejandre to drop the full product lowdown.
We have a head start on sussing out the mascara behind that look, though. In a video posted to Instagram, Zendaya is seen adding swipes of Lancôme's Lash Idôle Mascara, £20 to her top lashes. She may be an ambassador of the renowned French beauty brand, but if you're lover of mascara you'll know that Lancôme holds serious sway in the mascara arena, having released a series of knock out, best-selling mascaras that are now considered bona fide cult classics.
Lancôme's Lash Idôle Mascara is cut from the same cloth. With a curved wand, the bristles latch to each hair to evenly coat lashes in a lightweight gel-emulsion formula. Lashes are left fanned out, lifted and lengthened with enviable volume. Look to Zendaya as the only proof you need of its impressive power.
