When asked recently to name my ultimate beauty muse, I didn’t miss a beat. Jennifer Aniston. Jennifer Aniston then, Jennifer Aniston now, Jennifer Aniston forever. From her soft, honeyed highlights to that signature Cali-girl glow, she embodies a brand of effortless cool that women the world over have been vying to emulate for years now. Myself included.
Imagine my delight, then, when Gucci Westman, make-up doyenne and Aniston’s long-time make-up artist, announced the launch of her Westman Atelier Sun Tone Bronzing Drops. Designed to create an ultra-real, authentic bronze, the finish was everything I’d ever hoped. But it still, it gets better.
Enter Westman’s latest glow-giver, the Westman Atelier Liquid Super Loaded Tinted Highlight in Pea de Petal, £53. It’s not a mega-watt gold or a holographic whirl of silver. Oh no. Instead, this one delivers a subtly pearlescent flush of petal pink that sits beautifully atop already-bronzed skin. It’s youthful, flirtatious, and definitely Rachel Green-approved. Described by Westman as ‘the quickest way to get compliments on your skin, I had to put it to the test.

How to apply the the Westman Atelier Liquid Super Loaded Tinted Highlight
After shaking and decanting a small amount to the back of my hand (careful, it comes out fast) I like to apply this using a dense, fluffy brush. I focus on the apples of my cheeks, building the colour slowly and gently - this gives me better control of the finish. I then set with a generous dose of setting spray to seal it all in. Charlotte Tilbury's is a favourite.
Our Verdict
Rachael Martin, Beauty Director, says:
'When I heard this new highlighter shade was launching, I could not have been more excited. That said, I have combination skin that errs towards the oilier end of the spectrum in summer, so typically I steer clear of anything that promises too much glow. But this? It somehow strikes the perfect balance - it's glowy but not shiny.

Often highlighters are either too glittery, settling into fine lines and ageing even the freshest skin, or too pigmented, leaving a harsh, muddy finish that just won’t blend. Again, this one finds the sweet spot. The texture is sheer and lightweight, with soft, multi-dimensional pearls instead of chunky glitter. This means it catches the light in a way that looks like real skin, only better. Just a few dabs across the top of my bronzer and I’m left with a beautifully sunlit flush of pink. It blends beautifully without disrupting my base and the colour can be easily built up. It's long lasting too, and doesn't need topped up.

Applying the highlighter - a brush works best
The finish is fresh, healthy, and flattering, and while it certainly perks up my skin during the day, it truly comes alive at night - think a soft, candlelit radiance that gleams every time you turn your head. It’s gorgeous. Honestly, I don’t think I could go without it in my routine now.'

Grazia's Beauty panellist and make-up artist Lan Nguyen-Grealis says:
'This is a great highlighter and is suited to all ages and skin textures. It works so beautifully because the undertone adds a kind of warmth. It's a soft feminine glow rather than a stark bright contrast. It invites youthful pink bronze hue that mimics the aftersun look. Think a subtle "lift" without all of the usual sparkle.'
