Sofia Schwarzkopf-Tilbury Shows Us How To Get The Ultimate Summer Glow And Perfect A Peachy Eye

With countless A-listers and top models (including Kendall Jenner and Irina Shayk) calling on her skills on the regular, renowned make-up artist Sofia Schwarzkopf-Tilbury is the creator behind many a beauty look on and off the red-carpet. Learning from the best, Sofia followed in her aunt Charlotte Tilbury’s footsteps - starting out on the Selfridges beauty counter before assisting Charlotte backstage on shows like Alice Temperley, where she really refined her skills. After years of hard graft and determination, Sofia now boasts an impressive client roster of her own and has become known for her slick Instagram tutorials, which cover everything from the ultimate red lip to her signature bronzed base. Here, Sofia talks exclusively to Grazia on how to create her ultimate summer glow accompanied by the perfect soft, peachy eye using new must-haves from Charlotte Tilbury…

The Step-By-Step

1. Prep Skin

Sofia begins by applying Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Serum Crystal Elixir, £60, which she swears by for keeping skin happy and hydrated. ‘I like to use 4-6 drops of this and massage it in using my fingertips.’ Packed with niacinamide, it helps to minimise the appearance of pores while hydrating skin with polyglutamic acid (4 x more powerful than hyaluronic acid).

Next up, Sofia applies the new Magic Cream Light, £75. ‘It gives you the same effect as Magic Cream – that dewy, gorgeous, hydrated looking skin, but is catered for more oily and sensitive skins.’ And with SPF 20, it’s the perfect lightweight choice for summer. Sofia finishes with a dab of the Magic Eye Rescue, £42, under and around the eyes.

2. Base First

‘The foundation that I really love to wear in summer, that will stay put all day long, is Charlotte Tilbury’s Airbrush Flawless Foundation, £34. I’m using shade 7N at the moment because I’ve got a bit of a tan.’ Top tip? ‘A little goes a long way, so it doesn’t have to feel heavy.’ You can, however, build it up if so desired. Sofia dots it on her cheeks, forehead, nose and chin before buffing it in with the Magic Complexion Brush, £45.

Sofia then applies the Magic Away Concealer Liquid Concealer, £24, in shade 6 just underneath her eyes, blending it in with fingertips.

‘To lock in that base, I use the Airbrush Flawless Finish, £35, down the t-zone to take away that unwanted shine.’

3. Peachy Lids

To create that warm, smoked-out eye – Sofia uses the new Charlotte Tilbury Desert Haze Luxury Palette, £40. ‘Start by using the bone shade and I like to tap it on my lid going backwards and forwards with a blending brush.’ Next, apply the peachy enhance shade along the crease and outer corners of the lids. Then just add a tiny bit of the smoke shade in the socket before finishing with a slick of mascara to really make eyes pop.

4. Lip Love

Sofia opts for the infamous Pillow Talk Lip Liner in Medium, £17, to match the natural tone of her lips before swiping on Glowing Jen Lipstick, £28 - ‘It’s such a pretty summer shade’.

5. Bronze and Glow

Available in four different shades, Sofia swirls on the new Airbrush Bronzer, £39, across cheekbones, temples and nose – wherever the sun would naturally hit.

Finally, to get that summer glow, Sofia taps on the Flawless Hollywood Filter, £34, with the Beauty Light Wand, £29, on the high points of her face to make skin seriously dewy and radiant.
