It was a big night for TV on Sunday as the 77th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards took centre stage. Netflix’s British drama Adolescence made a near clean sweep winning six awards, while Severance's mind-bending legacy continued to triumph. On the red carpet, the A-listers continued to serve. Jenna Ortega made another case for goth glam with ruddy lips, bleached brows and a gemstone-encrusted naked ensemble that nodded to '90s classic dark-comedy Death Becomes Her. Meanwhile, walking the carpet with fiancé Benny Blanco in hand, Selena Gomez went big on PDA and a classic look with a slicked-back pony and polished make-up. Not only that but a close inspection of her product line-up for the night reveals a new Rare Beauty bestseller in waiting.
Taking to Instagram, Gomez's go-to make-up artist Hung Vanngo, revealed all the products he used to create the singer and actress's soft glam. The line-up included K-beauty breakout brand Mixsoon, which Vanngo has long used on Gomez to prep her skin ahead of red carpets, as well as (of course) essentials from Gomez's beauty brand Rare Beauty. While the list included the usual run of well-loved favourites from the brand, Vanngo nodded to a soon-to-be-revealed new foundation which he referred to - tellingly - as 'Rare Beauty Foundation 👀' in his caption.
So far, Rare Beauty counts a single foundation in its offering. The Liquid Touch Weightless Foundation, £28, boasts medium, buildable coverage that is both long-lasting and breathable thanks to its serum-like feel. But a quick shop online for the existing product shows all but a handful of shades are sold out practically everywhere, meaning the scarcity of stock is more evidence that the brand is about to usher in a new era of its base category. Judging by Gomez's Emmys glam and the current trends in foundation, we suspect an all-new full-coverage, soft matte, weightless foundation that respects the integrity of skin by looking and feeling, well, like skin. Such a product would be in keeping with Rare Beauty's central ethos, which is centred around finding both comfort and confidence in your own skin.
While we wait on further news about the brand's upcoming launch, here's a look at the bestsellers Gomez used to create her red carpet-worthy glam at the Emmy's 2025.

Meet the essence that has taken TikTok by storm. This K-beauty essential is the vegan answer to the trend for viral snail mucin serums, which packs all the hydration and glass skin glow you'd expect from a Korean skincare staple but without the snail secretion, of course.
Sameeha Shaikh, beauty writer, says: 'If you're not keen on slathering your skin with snail mucin (I don't blame you), give this a whirl. It is made from fermented soy beans, barley, pear, and pomegranate to deeply hydrate and nourish, while also functioning as a gentle peeling gel exfoliant thanks to the presence of natural AHAs and essential amino acids. If you want an all-in-one solution to glowy skin, this is it.'
Pros
- Two-in-one formula
- Vegan alternative to snail mucin trend
Cons
- Acne-prone skin types may not benefit from inclusion of soybean

Vanngo used the shade Happy on Gomez to create her look and it certainly spoke to the 'soft' quality of the viral, bestselling blush that is well-loved by the internet.
Sameeha Shaikh, beauty writer, says: 'Quite frankly, this is the best cream blush out there. A little goes a long way and the creamy, bendable formula leaves my complexion with a soft (yet somehow punchy) wash of long-lasting colour where ever applied (I tend to hit the apples of my cheek and bridge of my nose). I am wedded to the shade Hope and you likely will be too if you love a cool, blue-tone pink.'
Pros
- Long-lasting, creamy and blendable
- Great shade range that works across skin tones
Cons
- Packaging can slightly leak

If you want a glassy, high-shine sheen, apply this to the highest points of your skin. While the formula is powder-base, the finish is almost wet-looking thanks to its ultra-silky texture which melts into the skin.
Sameeha Shaikh, beauty writer, says: 'I stopped using powder highlights shortly after their surge in popularity around 2016 as I quickly realised they were accentuating my acne-prone textured skin. But I've made an exception for this. While it's a powder, the formula sits nicely on the skin to lend a healthy-looking radiance.'
Pros
- Available in 6 flexible shades
- Ultra-silky formula
Cons
- Not for those who prefer liquid highlight

Loaded with caster oil, this mascara tends to the look and condition of your lashes. It goes big on creating a fuller look, with an ultra-black pigment and two precise bristle lengths which work well on all lash types.
Sameeha Shaikh, beauty writer, says: 'I rarely wear mascara day-to-day, but when I do I look for formulas like this. It curls, volumises and lengthens without clumping, with a buildable, weightless feel that doesn't flake or smudge. Plus, it is water-resistant and lasts all-day.'
Pros
- Infused with castor-oil
- Water-resistant
Cons
- Not ideal for those who don't like a full lash look

This fool-proof double ended brow pencil helps to create natural-looking brows instantly. It glides over with little faff to help fill sparse areas and create dimension to your face. The waterproof formula, resists sweat and oil, and boasts long-lasting wear.
Sameeha Shaikh, beauty writer, says: 'A double ended eyebrow pencil is a none-negotiable in any make-up kit IMHO. A quick few strokes of this pencil helps to create definition and lift the face, and the creamy, blendable formula makes application a breeze, as does the finely angled tip which allows for maximum control so you can really get in there and create those hair-like strokes for a natural-looking brow.'
Pros
- Double ended with a fine tip applicator and built-in spoolie brush
- Blendable formula that is not too creamy or waxy
Cons
- Limited shade range
- Low stock
