Over the years, the wonder of the Met Gala has transcended far beyond the sartorial. Yes, the dress absolutely is the place we still look to first, but let us also not forget Jason Derulo's alleged stair fall, Jared Leto carrying a model of his own head, and the many other moments etched into pop culture forevermore.
Beyond the drama and the dress, though, the beauty looks also stand as a talking point. Last night, we saw Vanessa Hudgens' multi-dimensional eyeshadow and Kendall Jenner's bleached brows while Janicza Bravo paired a striking cobalt eye with a bold red lip. If you look past the spectacle, though, you'll find that newly-wed Nicola Peltz wore a certain nude lipstick that just so happens to be the perfect accompaniment to a smokey eye.

See the barely there, your-lips-but-better shade? Peltz's make-up artist Kate Lee shared that the shade was in fact Chanel's Rouge Allure Ink in Serenity, £31. The natural finish is part due to the inky formula. While historically liquid lipsticks can leave lips feeling on the dry side, Chanel's offering is featherlight, fluid and melts into the lip like a second skin, which keeps it appearing natural. Despite its natural appearance, the formula is still intensely pigmented.
As for the shade? It couldn't be more Nicola Peltz: natural, feminine and a little bit undone. Pair it with full frontal smoke à la Nicola, or blot it on to the lips with bare skin for an imperceptible finish. You can shop Nicola's lipstick of choice for the Met Gala 2022, below.
