As we slowly crawl out of what felt like the longest winter of our lives, we have much to be excited for this spring. Sunshine, maxi dresses, walks in the park (that don't require a ski suit) and, of course, spring beauty trends.
Last year, clean-girl make-up reigned supreme. A minimalist approach that consisted of glossy lips, natural brows and rosy cheeks singlehandedly took over. In 2024, things are taking a turn. We've already seen the mob-wife trend contributing to our fashion choices this year, infusing a sense of boldness and maximalism into our wardrobes. And, it seems the same can be said for beauty, too. So what can we expect this spring? We suspect these three key trends will dominate.
The bold lip

According to NARS, bold lips are the way forward this springtime. Bright corals, vibrant pinks, and sultry reds are set to take over, as we say goodbye to the soft nudes and neutrals which have dominated thus far. Products such as the new NARS Afterglow Sensual Shine Lipstick, £26.50 are key to achieving this trend, featuring a dimensional shine and hydration, paired with a pigment that lasts long after the first swipe. On top of that, the NARS Afterglow Lipstick is infused with a blend of antioxidants to help defends against environmental aggressors.

Edgy eyes

Next up, the edgy eye. Gone are the days of sweeping mascara through our lashes and calling it a day. In 2024 we're reverting back to the 90s, adding dimension to our lids with a soft grunge look. It's basically a stripped back version of the 2010's 'smokey eye', and we're obsessed. How can you achieve it? The NARS Afterglow Irresistible Eyeshadow Palette, £50 consists of twelve eyeshadow shades, defined by bold metallics and deep browns that will have you spoiled for choice. It's limited edition, though, so be sure to snap it up while it's still in stock.

Skincare-infused beauty

While we're taking a slightly more maximalist approach to the eyes and lips, we are balancing it all out with a more natural, skincare-infused base layer. For 2024, we are prioritising foundation and concealers which actively contribute to our skin's health, leaving us with an air-brushed, glowy finish. Products such as the viral Light Reflecting Foundation, £41 by NARS, paired with the staple Radiant Creamy Concealer, £27 succeed in all these things, instantly blurring imperfections and powered by 70% skincare ingredients.
