The beauty industry is vast and can, at times, feel slightly overwhelming. The sheer amount of choice that's on offer is vast, with new brands emerging all the time. According to Cosmetify, however, it's not a new brand that's currently the UK's favourite but a long-standing name we've all come to know and love: The Body Shop.

In order to produce its report, Cosmetify took five major factors into account including increases in consumer interest as shown on Google, overall brand searches per month, the number of Instagram followers and hashtags and a brand's engagement rate on social media. Analysing all of this, the online platform determined that the UK favours The Body Shop out of all the other brands. The same, in fact, is true of Norway, Denmark, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia and Saudi Arabia, while Ireland favours Charlotte Tilbury and most of our fellow European countries prefer Yves Rocher.

In terms of the beauty industry's most powerful individuals, it was Huda Kattan who took the top spot. Kattan's eponymous beauty brand emerged after she left her job a decade ago to establish herself as one of the most successful women now working in the industry – Huda Beauty is now valued at around $1bn.

Interesting, the second most influential person in beauty is actually Millie Bobby Brown, who at just 15 years old has just launched her own vegan skincare and makeup brand. Kylie Jenner is hot on her heels thanks to Kylie Cosmetics, the beauty empire that is valued at around $900 million, and which led to Jenner being named the youngest 'self-made' billionaire by Forbes.

You may also be interested to know which brands have been most searched-for. In terms of brow products, Glossier is in the lead with 27,100 searches. Maybelline mascaras have been searched for 40,500 times and Estee Lauder is winning when it comes to foundation, with 201,00 searches. Clearly, Lancôme's perfumes are the most popular with an impressive 450,00 searches and, proving the sheer power of social media, Jeffree Star has 673,000 searches for eyeshadow.

Stressed out skin? Hell yeah. Nearly all of us are guilty of neglecting our skin through lifestyle, weather changes (read: winter), diet (that'll be all of December) and illness. These in turn create imbalances, which manifest themselves as sensitivity, dryness, redness and wrinkles. But help is at hand with this luxe set from our organic go-to skincare brand, Organic Pharmacy, which helps deliver targeted results to problem areas. Comprising four of their signature serums, this is one of the hardest working Christmas presents you could give this December.
