There has been a LOT of talk around skincare over the past 12 months. Beauty’s major players have continued to launch new skincare product after new skincare product, and if our reported shopping habits are anything to go by – we have been lapping them up. For make-up, it’s been a quieter story and the conversation has mainly revolved around speedy application hacks and those multi-tasking wonders that can double up as say a lipstick, a blusher, an eyeshadow – you name it.

And while we're definitely still spending money on skincare, according to Google searches it’s make-up that we’re lusting over. Analysing the search data for over 6,500 products from 20 different categories on Boots.com, Cult Beauty and Beauty Bay, the consumer spending experts at money.co.uk have uncovered the 20 most Googled beauty products in the past year. Of the four skincare products to make the list, Pixi’s Glow Tonic, £18, proved to be the most popular with over 253,900 searches. Over on make-up, Nars Sheer Glow Foundation, £33.50, has been crowned the UK’s favourite with over 87,100 searches.
