We've all been there, you buy something fairly pricey and then see it on sale elsewhere. There's no sugar-coating it, it's one of life's major annoyances. Which is why we can totally relate to a rant Molly-Mae Hague had during a recent Youtube video.
Sharing a vlog on her evening routine, Molly-Mae started by telling a story about how she could have saved up to £45 on her favourite Tom Ford fragrance – had she simply shopped elsewhere. Wounding.
'So today I went shopping and bought myself a new perfume,' Molly explained – showing a brand new bottle of Tom Ford's Soleil Blanc. She goes on to explain that the 50ml bottle in question cost £195.
'I didn't really realise it was going to cost so much,' she adds. Having bought the perfume, and arriving back home, Molly-Mae explains that she decided to see if she could get it cheaper elsewhere. 'I went onto Lookfantastic, just out of curiosity to see if they sell that perfume and how much it would cost me.'
'Do you know what at this point, I wish I hadn't bothered,' she says. 'Straight away when I found this perfume on Lookfantastic, I could see it was £175 – so instantly £20 cheaper.'
Molly-Mae then went on to say that she went one step further by seeing if the discount code she has worked on the already reduced price. 'So I added it to my basket, went to checkout and added my code.'
'I thought there was no way that my code would work as well,' she says. Having added her discount code (MOLLYMAELF for those wanting to use it!) it applied a further discount to the fragrance.
'Well, the perfume came down to basically £150. So what I'm trying to tell you here is, I could have literally have saved myself £45. That's basically another perfume in itself!'
Molly added that she was 'fuming', and we've all been there. Moral of the story: shop around before you buy and if you can find yourself a discount code too, you're onto a winner.
