While we thought we were well-versed in the world of blushers and all their iterations, Milk Makeup's jelly-like formula made us think twice. As seasoned beauty testers, it's not every day we come across a product that's different to anything else we've seen before, but Milk's Cooling Water Jelly Tint, £22 which launches next week, is exactly that.

If there's one thing Milk Makeup is known for, its for the outstanding creamy bronzer and blush formulae that blend seamlessly. For that reason, we knew that the Cooling Water Jelly Tint, £22, described as 'a hydrating blush and lip stain' with a 'bouncy texture that glides on like a dream', would go down treat for cream makeup fanatics.

You might be thinking: how on earth can a jelly-like blush work on the skin? We had the same burning question, which is why our team decided to put it to the test.

Naturally, as soon as this product landed on my desk I was intrigued. Initially I was skeptical, wondering whether it would do more than just amuse me thanks to its fun jelly-like texture - but I was quickly proved wrong.

After playing around with the super satisfying formula (for a little longer than I'd like to admit) it was time to apply. I chose shade Burst for my test, described as a 'poppy pink' which was the perfect deep flush shade I typically go for.

On application, the blush was reminiscent of a cheek stain thanks to its liquid-like consistency, which is not what I'm used to as a cream blush fanatic. However, with a tiny bit of blending, the blush sat seamlessly on my skin. I worked it in using the top of the blusher, and found that I didn't even need to use a brush to blend it in further because of how evenly it applied without putting in much work. A dream.

All in all I loved how easy it was to use, and how quickly it added a flush to my face. And I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy the fun texture. One thing to keep in mind is that this product sets fast, with not much time to blend, so it's important to work quickly.

Bottom line - unlike a lot of things that land on my desk, I immediately added this one to my make-up bag.

For me, cream blush is a non-negotiable. On my fair skin, I rely on cream blush to add a radiant glow and add some colour to my face.

Typically, I love a tinted cheek and lip stain as choosing products with longevity is something I prioritise to avoid needing to top up my make-up throughout the day.

I applied the shade, Spritz which, for my fair skin tone, worked a treat to emulate the typical shade I flush and complemented my natural lip tone. Not only did I love how the light, jelly texture glides onto the skin but I was super impressed with the sheer, hydrating pop of colour that lasted well on my lips and cheeks. This blush is easy to apply and perfect for popping into a makeup bag to give your skin an instant pop of colour.
