Rapper-singer and social activist Lizzo is a constant source of beauty inspiration. From blocks of fluro-green eyeshadow to lashings of mascara and statement lips, Lizzo loves to experiment in the make-up department. And her latest look for the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards totally stole the show. ‘For this look, I wanted to contrast the softness of the Balmain gown with a striking, smokey feline eye shape and kissable soft lips,’ says her make-up artist Alexx Mayo (@iwantalexx) who shared (to our delight) a full rundown of all the products used. Starting with skincare and ending with a glossy lip, Mayo called upon Hollywoods favourite beauty brand, Charlotte Tilbury to create that glow-y base and statement eye. Scroll on down to shop the entire look!
Prep And Base
As we know, skin prep is key when it comes to achieving a great base which is why Mayo called upon the cult favourite Dry Sheet Mask, £18, before applying Charlotte’s Magic Eye Rescue, £42, and Magic Cream, £75. To prep Lizzo’s lips, Mayo applied the new Magic Lip Oil Crystal Elixir, £28.
After skincare, Mayo used the Magic Away Concealer in 12.5 Tan, £24, and Hollywood Flawless Filter in 6 Tan, £34, to achieve that iconic ‘Tilbury Glow.’ Next, bronzer was a must with The Hollywood Contour Wand in Medium to Dark, £29, and Airbrush Bronzer in 3 Tan, £39, applied to Lizzo’s temples and cheekbones to define and sculpt. To finish? A pop of blusher with Cheek to Chic in Walk of No Shame, £30.
Eyes And Lips
All eyes were on Lizzo’s soft, smoked-out shadow that was created using the Hollywood Flawless Eye Filter in Diva Lights, £42. Housing four eyeshadows in champagne, rose, taupe and black, if there’s one product to purchase from the look – it has to be this. Start with the champagne shade in the inner corner of the eye before gradually blending outwards to the deepest shade to achieve that smoky finish. Mayo upped the drama and definition with a slick of Rock ‘N’ Kohl in Bedroom Black, £19, before brushing up Lizzo’s brows.
Over on lips, Mayo used Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk Intense, £17 – a deep tawny-brown lip liner pencil to outline and fill-in. To get that juicy, high-shine finish, he then layered the new Hyaluronic Happikiss in Passion Kiss, £25, on top.
