Lip art is definitely having a moment right now.
Preen designers opted for pressed flowers stuck on their models’ mouths during London Fashion Week on the SS'17 catwalks. Even Blake Lively – a fan of a classic red lip herself on the red carpet – could not help but fawn over the latest 3-D effect pouts taking over Instagram, courtesy of Jazmina Daniel. Then came the almighty sushi lip (yep, really).
But one makeup artist is going one step further, taking disco ball glitter lips to a whole new level. Make way for crystal lips.
New York-based makeup pro, Johannah, started posting snaps of her beautiful creations, from glittery candy floss to galaxy inspired lip art, on her Instagram @beyou.byjoh. Johannah’s latest lip looks are inspired by her favourite crystals - from amethyst and rose quartz - using metallic liquid lip liner to create a dripping gold effect.
While we may not be trialling these lippie looks in a hurry for a casual Friday night down the pub, the mesmerising and totes lifelike designs are so beautiful, we can’t help but coo over them…
