Since returning to the fore with sold-out shows and her groundbreaking fourth album, 30, Adele is still riding high on what is arguably her best comeback to date. Her Las Vegas residency performances regularly make it on to our Instagram feeds, not least because of the myriad fashion and beauty looks she continues to deliver weekend after weekend. And then there was the singer's appearance at last night's 65th Grammy Awards. Her burgundy dress and old Hollywood beauty style turned heads and camera lenses in one and for good reason.
Adele's nominations across seven Grammy categories and triumph in winning of the award for best pop solo performance had us all feeling nostalgic.
Adele's single Hello and its iconic video put her on the beauty map. The eyes! The hair! The contour! Suddenly Adele was the poster girl for perfect eyeliner as well as an unstoppable force in the music world.
We weren't the only ones to take note, either. A quick Google of 'Adele's Hellomake-up tutorial' releases an onslaught of articles and YouTube videos all offering readers and viewers various means of copying the iconic look at home.
Needless to say we've stayed tuned - hasn't everyone? - and it has to be said Adele has, if inadvertently, managed to teach us a lot of beauty lessons over the years, from teaching us how to pull off that loaded liner look with style and beyond.
Here are all the beauty lessons this music megastar has taught us over the years:
11 Surprisingly Useful Beauty Lessons That Adele Has Taught Us Over The Years

1. Go make-up-free
One thing about Adele, she's not afraid to bare it all (and we're not just talking about her music). The singer is often spotted going make-up free, like when she won her first Emmy for best outstanding variety special for her One Night Only show TV concert, which was broadcast ahead of the release of her latest album, 30.
2. Spice up your signature
Her classic winged liner may be a hallmark in her signature look, but Adele is known to play on her go-to. Here she's spiced up her cat eye with an added dusting of silver sparkle, yes please.
3. The updo
She may be known for her big, bouncy hair, but Adele is no stranger to an updo. She's certainly become more accustomed to it in recent years and Adele often sports different iterations of a bun - low, knotted, wispy and everything in between - proving it to be one of the most versatile hairstyles in her repertoire.
4. Get graphic
Again, with Adele you should always expect the unexpected. Her winged liner may well be her signature eye look, but switching up the usual is commonplace, seen here. Opting for a graphic liner look, her crease has been etched in with its own separate liner to pack drama.
5. The half-up half-down
Whether you're looking to conceal greasy roots or performing to a live crowd of thousands (as Adele proves) - you can call on the trusted half-up half-down to make you look snatched and put together in seconds. Albeit, Adele's glamorous, bouncy iteration was undeniably the work of a pro.
6. The cut crease
'I used to cry, but now I sweat', said Adele, in a now iconic Instagram caption. We're paying attention to her eyeshadow, though (and not just her signature eyeliner). Adele (or, her make-up artist), has placed a warm neutral shade strategically throughout the crease of her eye. The overall effect is impeccably chic and sets off her graphic eyeliner to a tee.
It's a masterclass in cut crease eyeshadow.
7. A red lip is always a good idea
...especially when paired with a black dress. Adele's look at the 2012 Grammy's is one that'll go down in the history books. Her warm, honeyed blonde hair, XL lashes and scarlet red lip is completely timeless.
8. Sheet masks for the win
Adele knows that a good quality sheet mask is a great way to flood your skin with moisture and deliver an enviable glow in minutes. It also makes for a cracking selfie moment as Adele proves here. We like 111Skin's Y Theorem Bio Cellulose Mask, £16. It's one thing to put moisture into the skin, but it's another thing to keep it there. This mask does a stellar job at restoring and retaining hydration, as well as visibly brightening skin.
9. Bobs never go out of style
We've always been envious of those who can pull off both long and short hair (Adele is a glowing example). Her razor-sharp just-lower-than-jaw-length bob caused a sensation when the star debuted it in 2016 and she single handedly proved that the classic cut would never go out of style.
10. Yes you can go OTT on both eyes and lips in one look
Choosing between dramatic eyes or lips? Stop. Adele's look at the 2016 Brit Awards tells us to rip up the rulebook and go bold on both parts. Here Adele's deep red lip pairs beautifully with her champagne shade of sparkling eyeshadow.
11. Waterproof mascara is a must
If you've ever sat there listening to Adele on shuffle mid commute it's likely the star has opened your eyes to the need for a decent waterproof mascara.
