Last week Stacey Solomon took to Instagram to share the cold, hard facts: two weeks on from giving birth to her new daughter Belle, she hadn't been able to wash her hair. Stacey's Instagram Story was light-hearted, full of the 'oh well' sentiment that will surely strike a cord with countless new mothers.

On Sunday, Stacey returned to her platform to pick up the same subject, this time trying out a new hair look. 'I'm calling it newborn fresh hair' she said of the scraped back bun she notes she first admired on Molly-Mae Hague. 'Can someone please tell me why I can't pull this off?' Stacey laughed to camera, shielding her bun from view. 'Why do I look like Miss Trunchbull?'.

'Can you send me a newborn slicked back hair tutorial please @mollymae?' Stacey added. Fans rushed to Stacey's aid.

After attempting different iterations of the look on herself, Stacey was inundated with advice from her 5.6M followers. One follower said, 'It looks good! Pull down some strands by the ears and it'll look even better' – sound advice. While another advised placing the bun lower or adding a middle parting. After trying everything from the ballerina bun to the centre-parted low-do, Stacey landed on one final course of action. 'I'm washing it tomorrow', she wrote.
