Sophie Habboo knows her way around an excellent blow-dry. Case in point? Her 'do for the Brit Awards last weekend which was every inch the '90s 'it' girl dream. Created by her long time hair stylist and friend Willis Galbraith (the talent behind her wedding hair) fans were quick to hit 'like' on the expertly tousled layers.
'The brief was a sexy, undone, effortless blow-out,' says Habboo, speaking exclusively to Grazia. 'Willis and I always choose looks around enhancing my features in a very natural way. There’s also a lot of inspiration taken from '90s style as well. I can't pick one, but Julia Roberts, Pamela Anderson, and Kate Moss are all timeless and I love how their hair has remained a key part of their look throughout the years.'

And it turns out her look was created in collaboration with a bargain brand, too. 'We wanted to achieve a sexy, flicky, effortless blow-out,' says Galbraith, 'The exact products used prove you don't always need to spend a lot of money to achieve a high-end fish.'
A Step-By-Step Guide To Sophie Habboo's '90s Blow Dry:
-
To start, apply the TRESemmé Volume Lift Mousse, £5.99 to freshly washed, damp hair, washed using the TRESemmé Lamellar Shine Shampoo, £3.50 & TRESemmé Lamella Shine Conditioner, £3.50
-
Next, mist the hair with the TRESemmé Lamellar Shine Ultra Gloss Spray, £5 for heat protection
-
Rough dry the hair, then used a round brush to create a voluminous, 90s-inspired shape with natural movement
-
Set the style with rollers through the crown for 30 minutes before finishing with the TRESemmé Freeze Hold Hairspray, £5.99 to enhance texture, hold and add a sexy unfinished look to the hair.
-
Finish with another blast of TRESemmé Lamellar Shine Ultra Gloss Spray, £5 to add gloss
According to the duo there was one product in particular that really elevated the look - the new TRESemmé Lamellar Shine Ultra Gloss Spray, £5. Made with clever Lamellar Technology, just a light misting works to 'smooth the surface of the hair while locking out humidity and frizz.' It can be used on damp or dry hair to add shine and protection - it bolsters strands against up to 230°C of heat styling while adding mirror-like levels of shine.
'It really elevated my hair and gave me that red carpet approved finish,' said Habboo. 'Just a misting added the kind of glamour and shine that felt fitting for an occasion as exciting as the BRITs.'
