This past year has been a difficult time for hair salons, with lockdowns affecting how hair salons operate after coronavirus. But as consumers, we've been itching to get back in the hairdressers hotseat, with a recent survey revealing that a trip to the salon was ranked as the #1 experience we've been missing, above activities like shopping and weekends away.
Which is why we're thrilled at the new scheme L’Oréal Professionnel Paris is putting in place to help us get back out to our favourite salon. Say hello to the ‘French Balayage – Only In Salon’ scheme.
What is French Balayage?
According to a report carried out by Salon Tracker, it turns out that nearly half of all salon services are blonding services, with Balayage searches up +550% month on month. But what is balayage and can you DIY balayage at home?
Balayage is a French application technique that involves 'sweeping' hair dye onto the hair, for an ultra-natural, sun kissed finish. It's a free-hand painting technique, which is why it's best left to the professionals. Colour (usually bleach) is painted onto the hair in seamless, graduating panels - resulting in a grown-out, ultra-fine, highlighted look.
L’Oréal Professionnel Paris ‘French Balayage – Only In Salon’ campaign offers consumers that perfect Parisian-chic look, at a lesser price.
Can anyone get a French Balayage?
Balayage is a technique that's suited to all hair tones and textures. French Balayage is a hand-painted technique, which means your appointment is fully personalised to you and your hair. Whether your hair is straight, wavy, curly, kinky or coiled, balayage placement can work on any hair types, cuts and colours.
How can I get £10 off a balayage appointment?
Think of it as the 'eat-out-to-help-out' scheme but for your hair. L’Oréal Professionnel Paris is offering £10-cashback to customers, when they book into their supporting salon partners across the UK and Ireland in order to boost the bounce-back of hair salons.
Having just launched this July, the scheme will be running until September 2021. All you need to do is book an appointment in a participating salon in the UK here or in Ireland here, attend your salon colour experience and after your appointment, upload your receipt onto lauynour online platform to claim back £10. A brill balayage and £10 cash? We're sold.
