I think we can all agree that spring was a bit of a wash out, which means we’re more than ready for a brighter and more prosperous summer. If you’re anything like me, this time of year makes me feel anew. Retiring duvet coats and packing away cashmere scarves, in the summer I feel like a more vibrant version of myself – but this feeling is not confined to my wardrobe alone. Giving my home a refresh at this time of year is also an annual occurrence – almost ritualistic if you will. The season gives me a kick up the backside to renew anything that seems tired within my home, better my surroundings and improve my outlook as a result. After all, if we’ve learnt anything in recent years, it’s that our home can have a significant impact on our mood. To welcome summer, I like to rehome any clutter or things that no longer serve me in order to make space for new finds. Just like I pack away my thermal layers with glee, I also like to store away my cosy cushion covers, switch up the colour scheme in my flat a little, and brighten up my outdoor space with flowers and new furniture – after all, it’s been neglected since last August, so could definitely do with it. Whether you’re breathing new life into your living room, or adding a bit of flair to your patio – I’ve been tapping into one brand above all else for all my homeware needs – and that’s Argos.

The 12 Argos Homeware Gems Currently In My Online Basket

The mid-year home and garden refresh has officially started - and there's only one brand that has everything I need (and want).

Yes, turns out the Argos catalogue isn’t just for Christmas at all. In fact, it’s an ideal all-year-round shopping destination for homeware too thanks to its huge selection of trend-led interior decor and practical garden furniture. It’s easy to overlook a brand such as Argos particularly with the rise in homeware available through your usual clothing haunts, but you’d be surprised just how many unique finds (at affordable prices) are available alongside the more popular electricals and appliances. In case you didn’t know, Habitat falls under the Argos umbrella so that should give you a clear idea of the great homeware available alongside their own range too.
So how have I been utilising what Argos has to offer? I’m planning on changing up my home a bit for summer 2022 by giving my modestly-sized balcony a bit of a face lift and my bright and airy living room a new lease of life. On the lookout for unique finds like rugs, comfy armchairs, bistro patio sets and funky festoon lights – finding everything I desire in one destination sounds like it would be a hard feat, but it’s really not with Argos. I currently have an online basket saved that’s brimming with exciting home and garden gems. Here’s a rundown of everything I need or simply desire right now.
Habitat 2 Seater Bamboo Bistro Set - Natural
Super chic and ideal for a small family, this bamboo bistro set - that's two chairs and table - would look perfect on a balcony or in a courtyard that’s brimming with wildflowers. Change up the cushions for an extra personal touch and add a vase of flowers if you’re feeling funky
Argos Home Wooden Sun Lounger with Cushion - Cream
If you’re blessed with a little more space than I (and a south facing outdoor space), then this chic wooden sun lounger will look great nestled among greenery. With a cream cushion, simply throw a beach towel of abstract blanket over it and curl up under the sun with a good book.
Habitat Arch Shelf Wall Mirror - Gold
Bringing a new mirror into your home is the fastest way to make it seem bigger and fresher. This arch mirror with a handy shelf is great for a hallway or above a fireplace in a living room. Stack with ornaments or books in your living area, or dump your keys and Oyster card on it in your hall.
