Remember two years ago when 'Bitchy Resting Face' became a thing? The genius video by Broken People encapsulated what happens when your natural expression looks a bit, well, bitchy. You can't help it, you're not actually cross, or scowling, you just look annoyed at life all the time.

Well the Queen has mentioned her own rather famous deadpan face in a biography profiled by The Times. In the interview, Queen Elizabeth says she always looks "cross", revealing "I've got the kind of face that if I'm not smiling I look cross. But I'm not cross."

What the Queen is describing is pretty much bitchy resting face - but we're calling it cross resting face instead - because it sounds a bit nicer. And if we were allowed to hang out with her at Balmoral, we would inform her that actually, it's OK not to smile all the time - her cross face is all part of her charm.

Here's what happens to you if you suffer from the same affliction as Her Majesty - and why, actually, it's alright to not be smiling all the damn time.
