After fat-shaming, slut-shaming and general body-shaming stories have dominated the headlines recently, we have another sad and frustrating story to add to our list: pregnancy-shaming.
People magazine reported on a Philadelphian TV Meteorologist who experienced pregnancy-shaming after appearing on air with her bump on proud display.
Katie Fehlinger, who is nearly 35 weeks pregnant with twin girls, and appears on CBS 3 Philly, took a stand on social media after receiving horrible comments and being called names - she was compared to a "sausage in casing" and told that "sticking your pregnant abdomen out like that is disgusting".
So she wrote a "message to the haters" and "a little manifesto of sorts" on Facebook - to let other women know they shouldn't be ashamed of their pregnant bodies.
"Even during the most uncomfortable – and let's face it, less than glamorous – symptoms of pregnancy, what women go through to bring their precious children into the world is, simply put, AMAZING and you should be lauded," she wrote.
"Frankly, I don't care how 'terrible' or 'inappropriate' anyone thinks I look," she added. "I will gladly gain 50 pounds [and] suffer sleepless, uncomfortable nights if it means upping my chances to deliver [two] healthy baby girls."

With over 5,000 shares and 75,000 likes, Katie's post has gone viral on Facebook, and mothers have responded by sharing their own bump photos with Katie.
She told Yahoo Parenting that she's glad she spoke out: "I didn't respond, I tried to move on, but it really hurt my feelings" she said.
And after the comments went a bit too far, Katie said she "had a moment of clarity – I didn't get embarrassed or hurt. I got fed up."
