As the memes are saying: who'd have thought that 2015 would be be the year we'd all become Beliebers? Though Justin wasn't the only music star to make a fresh appearance in our Spotify most-played, Years and Years and Wolf Alice made it firmly onto our radar, and Adele made a major comback. But who will be our soundtrack to 2016?

These are the music stars you need to start listening to, now...

Alessia Cara

[Def Jam]

After her mum encouraged her to upload her songs to Youtube, it was only a matter of time before Alessia (now 19) went viral with her song 'Here', about feeling like an outsider at a house party. And it's not just the masses who are hooked on her frank lyrics and addictive R&B-pop sound - she counts the likes of Taylor Swift, Drake and Lorde as fans. No biggie. Next stop: chart domination with her debut album, 'Know It All', out 11th March.

Hinds

[Lucky Number]

Girl groups don't come much cooler than Hinds. Sassy lyrics combined with scratchy guitar riffs make for the best indie-pop we've heard in a while. If you need help getting out of bed in Janaury, then their debut album 'Leave Me Alone' definitely delivers - even if the title suggests otherwise. Their 90s fashion credentials are also second to none.

Jack Garratt

Jack Garratt is getting serious buzz from his super catchy track *Breathe Life. *He also boasts a very impressive beard, if you're into facial hair. He's supported the Mumford and Sons boys on tour - a sure-fire testament to his talents and his nice guy credentials.

WSTRN

UK hip hop has got a new lease of life thanks to West London trio WSTRN's high-energy sound. Cousins Akelle Charles and Haile, and friend Louis Rei recorded breakout single In2 during an impromptu jam session, a record deal swiftly followed and the rest is history. Big things beckon for these boys.

Nao

Thanks to her synthy, genre-crossing sound on songs like 'Bad Blood' (no, not the Taylor song), Nao has the music industry falling at her feet. You might also know her as the voice of Disclosure track *Superego. *We can't wait to hear more of her majestic voice in 2016.

Daya

17-year-old Daya (it's pronounced "dey-uh" just FYI) is already climbing her way up the charts with her single 'Hide Away' from her self-titled debut EP. The new addition to the pop world is set to release an album later this year, so make sure you keep an ear out.

DNCE

Urm, since when has Joe Jonas been in a new band? It seems the former Jonas Brothers star has now joined forces with a new squad to form American pop rock band DNCE. The group released their single 'Cake By The Ocean' last year, which saw it's way onto the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Chloe Angelides

Singer/Songwriter Chloe Angelides already has a fair few big hits under her belt, having penned the likes of Selena Gomez's 'Sober' and Nicki Minaj's 'Get On Your Knees'. The 23-year-old is now ready to step into the spotlight herself, with plans of launching her solo career later in 2016.

Fletcher

Fletcher landed herself in Spotify's Viral 50 Chart for two weeks running when she released her debut single "War Paint" last summer. Now she's back with her follow up track "Live Young Die Free" ahead of her new album, which she's described as "anthemic and inspirational" and "introspective and romantic" - sounds interesting!

Tori Kelly

You know you've got an up and coming artist of your hands when Prince goes and endorses her. The music icon told EW he thinks the 'Nobody Love' singer will "make it because she does the work."
