If you haven't yet heard about the electronic-soul group Lion Babe, it’s time for you to get involved.

Lion Babe are the uber-cool musical duo from New York who have been setting the British airwaves alight with their funk-infused tunes. Made up of producer/musician Lucas Goodman and singer/songwriter Jillian Hervey, who is not only drop dead gorgeous and talented, she is also the daughter of US actress and former Miss America Vanessa Williams.

We were first introduced to them with their debut track Treat Me Like Fire{ =nofollow}, a vibrant song and an equally electric video which sees frontwoman Jillian Hervey covered in gold paint sporting her signature curly mane, solidifying the meaning behind their name.

Last night, at their sold out London gig they put on a stellar show, performing all the hits from their self-titled EP as well as treating us to some new tracks, Stressed Out, Satisfy My Love & Where Do We Go.

A crowd favourite of the night was their latest single Wonder Woman{ =nofollow}, produced by Pharrell Williams. Reminiscent of his early work, the colourful 70’s track is sultry and full of sass. Paired with an incredible performance by Jillian, flipping her effervescent hair to the funky beats of the song, you could see her professional dance background seeping through in her flawless pirouettes and enviable high kicks.

From the intricately designed leotard, to the jazzy beats provided by Lucas and dazzling vocals from Jillian, an evening with Lion Babe is full of shimmering theatrics and bubbling energy.

Their debut album is expected later on this year and we’re told to expect collaborations with the likes of Dave Sitek, Mark Ronson and more. We eagerly await.
