Between starring in rap music videos and becoming Chanel's freshest face, Lily Rose-Depp has become pretty prolific in the modelling arena this year, but her latest modelling gig has a very personal significance. The 16-year-old is the latest star to take part in photographer iO Tillett Wright’s We Are You: Self Evident Truths project, which raises awareness for those who "identify as anything other than 100% straight."
The photographer shared a photo to Instagram Lily wearing a T-shirt bearing the projects 'We Are You' slogan. "She decided she wanted to be in @SelfEvidentProject because she falls somewhere on the vast spectrum, and I couldn't be happier to welcome her to the family," iO captioned the pic. "She's a tiny gem of a good human. #ProudUncle #WeAreYou."
Lily appears in a second photo alongside two other teens which the project captioned: "These sweet teen dreams joined the Self Evident Project family over the weekend," the organisation wrote on Instagram. "The entire point of this project is to help young people feel good being true to themselves, so to us this is the ultimate win!"
The project plans to document and celebrate 1,000 people in the US who identify as somewhere on the LGBTQ spectrum, of which Lily-Rose is now one. Cara Delevingne and Lily's stepmum Amber Heard have already taken part in the project.
While Lily re-posted the photo herself minus a caption, by partaking in the project we can assume she identifies somewhere on the spectrum. By lending her high profile means, she's shared the project's positive message with thousands of teens.
