A new pub in London is giving a whole new meaning to having a ‘quiet one’.
Opening this Friday, the ‘Make Time For It’ bar will only have room for two punters, who will both have to sacrifice their phones in order to gain entry, encouraging people to actually talk to each other. You can pre-book your slot (probably worth it, considering the capacity...) or just rock up, and entry is free.
Officially Britain’s smallest pub – measuring just 6ft by 8ft (that’s smaller than a snooker table, FYI) – the pop-up from Meantime Brewery will be serving six unique brews, with one thrown in for free. As if that wasn’t enough of an incentive to visit, guests will also get a bespoke personalised bottle of Pale Ale to take home.
“The ‘Make Time For It’ campaign was designed to highlight the importance of time, the fifth ingredient in ours beers, as well as celebrate the best of British craft from across the country,” said Rich Myers, Marketing Director of Meantime Brewing Company. “The bar was designed to help create the perfect drinking environment – a space to appreciate craft in a variety of forms and the perfect spot to spend time catching up with a mate over a beer. We’re also exploring the idea of sending the bar on tour around the country, made possible by the fact that it fits comfortably in a Transit van!”

The Make Time For It bar will be opening on 21st October at Peninsula Square in North Greenwich.
