We Went To The ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Premiere: Here’s What You Need To Know

It's one of the most hotly-anticipated films of the year so we were super-excited** to head down to Leicester Square in London for the UK premiere of Fifty Shades of Grey. We stalked the red carpet (and stalked Jamie Dornan) before finally watching what all the fuss is about. Here's ten things you need to know about the most hotly-anticipated film, well, ever...

1) Jamie, The Gent

Jamie Dornan is a real gentleman. When he and Dakota Johnson joined E L James and Sam Taylor Johnson on stage to say a few words ahead of the screening he showed off his charm by letting each and every one of the women leave the stage first. The crowd couldn't help but swoon (and scream).

2) Those abs

Speaking of Jamie, if you're a fan of a fit and toned body then it's worth going to see the film just to perve on Jamie. He really is a beautiful specimen of a man. And when he's in the playroom in those jeans, my goodness! It will set your heart racing.

3) Let's talk about sex

The film has been slammed for a lack of sex, but while you don't actually see flesh until a third of the way into the film there is plenty of it. While we see A LOT of Dakota's boobs there isn't any full frontal shots - just a hint at Jamie's crotch - which is way more effective than a porn-style in your face shot anyway.

4) All that S&M

The playroom scenes aren't as hardcore as we expected. It's a lot of stroking and light slapping with her hands tied up for good measure. There is a scene towards the end which is uncomfortable to watch, but for the most part it makes S&M less intimidating than we had first thought.

5) And HER body

Yep, we've got a new girl crush. Dakota shows off her shape a lot in the film and wow, she has an incredible body. She's got perfect boobs and bum and a ridiculously flat tum. We're heading down to the gym pronto.

6) Dakota's dress

Considering she's such a hottie, it was no surprise to see the leading lady looking absolutely incredible in a flowing - and plunging - white dress by Saint Laurent at the UK premiere. The neckline really suited her and she stood the freezing cold for hours showing it off and chatting to fans before grabbing a studded leather jacket to try and warm up.

7) Rita who?

We were expecting big things from Rita Ora when it was revealed she had signed up to the film, but her role was really overhyped. Blink while watching and you could miss her completely. She barely had one line.

8) Prepare to laugh

The audience at the premiere was filled with mega fans who whooped, shrieked and swooned their way through the film but it did conjure up a fair few laughs too. If you're read the book you know there's some seriously cheesy lines so prepare to laugh out loud. We found ourselves sat in front of Nick Grimshaw and Sadie Frost and we could hear Nick's cackle two rows away.

9) Also: prepare to cringe

There were moments in the film where we had to hide behind our hands - not because the content was too graphic, but because it was just really cringe-worthy. But if you're read the book, you'll be prepared.

10) Suspend your disbelief

How many 27-year-old Billionaires are there in the world? It's not real life so suspend your disbelief there are lots of things that don't add up but if you just let go you'll enjoy it.
