#NoWomanEver: The Hashtag Exposing Everyday Street Harassment

Cat-calling someone on the street. Feeling threatened by a drunken guy ‘chatting you up’ when you’re on your way home late at night.

It’s not cool, flattering or funny.

But now women have taken to Twitter to, sarcastically, share their unwanted interactions with men, using the #NoWomanEver hashtag.

Enlightening, but telling that we still need to remind people that no one has, or ever will, appreciate sexual harassment.

In fact, a recent YouGov survey of British women’s experience of sexual harassment in public places revealed that 85% of women aged 18-24 have experienced unwanted sexual attention in public places.

The honest entries on social media using #NoWomanEver- including Princess Diaries actress Heather Matarazzo – expose the shocking extent of violent sexual harassment and misogynistic comments endured on a daily basis.
