News that the UK is set to leave the European Union rocked the nation last week, as polls revealed a divide in opinions, with 52% voting leave and 48% voting to remain.
And the run-up to the EU Referendum dragged social media into political turmoil as Facebook shaming, ‘de-friending’ and ‘unfollowing’ inevitably took place.
With politics permeating our social circles, it comes as no surprise that sadly we all know someone who has voted out of their relationship over Brexit. Maybe you stopped seeing your Tinder date after discovering they voted leave, or the final straw was when they Instagramed themselves outside the polling station...
But if this week has broken your heart in more ways than one and you’re wondering if you’ll ever find anyone who shares your political views again, then this is sure to cheer you up. Forget swiping left as there’s a new app in town - Remainder.
And yes it's designed to cheer you up post-Brexit. As the site states, ‘What better way to recover than hooking up with someone who shares your sense of existential dread?’ Things seem better already, right?
Set up by ‘two ordinary voters who wanted to cheer everyone up after a dismal day’, the app will enable Remain voters to seek love again.
So if you’re single post-Brexit then you can donate to Remainder on Crowdfunder, as they need £5000 to launch the app. But don’t fret, as they’ve already received thousands of signups.
So here’s to finding someone who’ll really love EU and your political views (sorry).
