Meghan Markle is starting 2025 as she means to go on. On New Year's Day, she made a bold return to Instagram after a five year hiatus, launching her new account (simply @meghan) with a black and white video where she is seen skipping barefoot on the beach and writing '2025' in the sand. Don't worry, Prince Harry was just on the other side of the camera.
The following day she announced the arrival of her long-awaited Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, which is set to be released next month.
Sharing a teaser from the new show, which celebrates 'the joy of cooking, gardening and friendship', the Duchess of Sussex wrote: 'I have been so excited to share this with you! I hope you love the show as much as I loved making it. Wishing you all a fantastic new year! Thanks to our amazing crew and team @netflix. Beyond grateful for the support – and fun!'
When is With Love, Meghan out on Netflix?
Meghan's new show, which is produced by her and Prince Harry's production company Archewell Productions, is available to stream on Netflix on 15 January.
What is With Love, Meghan about?
From the teaser, it's clear that Meghan will be exploring her love of cooking, gardening and hosting alongside a range of expert guests and friends. 'We're not in pursuit of perfection, we're in pursuit of joy,' she says in the clip. 'Love is in the details.'
After stepping down as a senior working royal and moving to Montecito in California with Prince Harry in 2020, where they currently live with their two children, Meghan has peeled back from public life in recent years. In fact, she has not been seen in public with her husband since the start of December, prompting Harry to quash divorce rumours in a recent DealBook summit in New York.
Instead, the couple appear to be trialling a 'professional separation' which allows them to pursue their own projects, revamp their respective reputations and become less synonymous with one another. This is something her new Netflix series surely confirms.
Aside from her charity work, personal projects and a few quasi-royal tours with Prince Harry, Meghan has stayed off social media to avoid 'unsurvivable' trolling. Nor has she offered any major insights into her personal life since her and Prince Harry's eponymous Netflix series in 2022.
With Love, Meghan, then, is her latest endeavour to show herself in a different light – one where she is able to tablescape with friends, make homemade ice cream and tend to her vegetable patches. Whatever happens, there is no doubt the series will provide people with plenty to talk about.
