The White Lotus is known for transporting us to exotic locations. In past seasons, we've seen drama (and murders) take place at various Four Seasons resorts across Hawaii, Sicily and Thailand. Now, rumours are circulating that for season four, the action could be taking place closer to home – with France being named as the next likely destination.
According to a report in Deadline, Creator Mike White and HBO have 'zeroed in' on France as the location for the next season. It has yet to be confirmed which city or hotel the action will take place in - but given The White Lotus has a marketing partnership with the Four Seasons brand, we can probably expect at least some of the action to take place at one of their hotels.
There are three four season hotels in France. One of these is the infamous Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat on French Riviera, which is known for having links to Hollywood thanks to its proximity to Cannes. The others are the Megève in the Alps, and the Hotel George V, located in Paris. Ooh la la.
However, the source told Deadline that a hotel hadn't been selected for the project yet. And although past seasons have used the Four Seasons as a filming location, the show also makes use of other properties. While a lot of filming for season three took place at the Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui, the show also featured three other non-Four Seasons hotels. An HBO representative declined to comment to Deadline, according to the outlet.

What has Mike White said about season four of The White Lotus?
Mike White has previously shared small glimpses into his hopes for season four of the show, after the third season wrapped last year. 'For the fourth season, I want to get a little bit out of the crashing waves of rocks vernacular but there’s always more room for more murders at the White Lotus hotels,' he said.
Many fans have speculated that season four could take place in a colder location - marking a shift from the white sand beaches and clear seas we've got used to. However, cast members have previously joked that White does not like being in cold climates, which could rule out a murder taking place in a swanky ski resort.
However, if it was up to Aimee Lou Wood, who starred as Chelsea in series three, the show would take place in a snowy location. She told Heat, ‘I really want to see them do one in a cold place, like a ski season. I feel like it’s exactly the right kind of clientele for the show, and it’d be so cool to have a snowy vibe. Part of what makes The White Lotus great is everyone being a bit flustered and sweaty, so I’d love to see how that would change – and to see everyone in their great ski outfits.’
In February, Francesca Orsi, HBO’s head of drama, dropped further hints about a location, telling Deadline, 'We’re going on some locations scouting in the next couple of weeks, so we’ll know soon. I can’t really say where we’re going to land, but chances are somewhere in Europe.'
