Love Is Blind UK is back for a second season, as a new group of singletons hope to find love on the show. In season two of Netflix’s unconventional dating experiment, which is available now to stream, contestants take a less conventional approach to modern dating by choosing someone to marry without ever meeting them face to face, until they commit to each other with an engagement.
They then move in together to plan their wedding as they find out if their physical connection is as strong as the emotional bonds they developed in the pods.
Filming for the series, which is hosted by Emma and Matt Willis, takes place across Europe. We take a look at the filming locations…
Where are the Love Is Blind UK pods?
Before they see each other irl, the potential partners get to know each other via dates in the pods over ten days. The pod scenes for both series one and two were not filmed in the UK, but in Stockholm, Sweden, reusing the set from the Swedish version of the Love Is Blind franchise.
‘The pods could literally be in any country, in any city, in any place in the world. The pods aren’t about place. The pods are about an experience,’ creator Chris Coelen said. ‘People love the pods. There are real, intense, incredible love stories that unfold in really fascinating ways in the pods. There are unbelievable love triangles. We now embrace the fact that it’s incredibly emotional, dramatic, messy and aspirational.’
The pods are entirely soundproof, and the contestants speak to each other through speakers. ‘There’s no producers in there, there’s nobody else. It’s just you and the other person,’ Chris explained.
He said that some people have even fallen asleep in the pods in other shows, so they could stay close to their match. ‘People would say, “I love to fall asleep in the pod with the person I’m talking to.” They wanted to spend as much time as they possibly could just talking to that person.'
Where is the Love Is Blind UK retreat filmed?
In season one, the newly engaged couples jetted off to Corfu, Greece, where they enjoyed a week-long retreat at the five-star luxury Angsana Corfu Resort and Spa. This year, the pairs went to Cyprus for their week-long post-pod retreat.
Where did the Love Is Blind UK couples stay?
Last year, after their engagement-moon, the pairs in season one lived with each other at STAY in their two and three-bedroom serviced apartments in Camden, London. We’ll have to wait and see where the couples stay in the new series.
Where are the Love Is Blind weddings filmed?
The wedding in last year’s series took place at Wynyard Hall in Stockton-on-Tees in County Durham, described as ‘a stunningly beautiful 18th century, grade II listed country house’ nestled within a private 400 acre estate. As the next batch of episodes drop, we’ll have to wait and see if the ceremonies in season two will take place at the same venue.
