For the first time in its 19-year history, filming has come to a standstill on I'm A Celebrity.)
The show was taken off air on Saturday and Sunday and in typical British fashion, the reason I'm A Celeb is not being broadcast is because - yep, you guessed it! - the weather. Storm Arwen has made conditions tricky at Gwrych Castle in Wales, where the show is now filmed after moving from Australia due to Covid restrictions.
Over the weekend, ITV said, 'Owing to technical difficulties caused by extreme weather conditions in the area, there will be no new episodes of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! this weekend (Saturday and Sunday).'
But it turns out the show is also going to be off air tonight (Monday) - but, happily, ITV have confirmed it's going to be back tomorrow (Tuesday).
If you're wondering where the celebs are, they've been removed from the castle for safety reasons, and are staying in quarantine, like they were before they entered the castle. An insider told MailOnline that the site has been badly hit by the storm, with the source saying: 'It looks like a bomb has hit the site today. The roofs of the marquees have been ripped or torn off and equipment is lying on on its side along with the fencing.'
It's not the first trouble on set, either. ITV reps confirmed last week that an intruder was removed from set. A statement from the programme said: 'A security breach was identified and an intruder was removed from the location with immediate effect. The safety of both our celebrities and our production crew remains our primary concern.'
Eek, if travel looks more promising next year, maybe the show should move back to Australia...
