The White Lotus loves a returning character. Fans rejoiced over the bonus hours spent with heiress Tanya (played by the iconic Jennifer Coolidge) in series two, and we've known for some time that spa manager Belinda (Natasha Rothwell) was returning to the latest series shot in Thailand. But viewers were shocked to see another infamous figure come back, realising he's the only character to have featured in every single series of the eat-the-rich satire. Yes, Tanya's villainous scammer husband Greg is back.

Greg (Jon Gries) left the last series in a pickle. Having orchestrated a Machiavellian plot to kill and rinse his wife, we were horrified to see our favourite onscreen nepo baby Tanya shoot all of his accomplices and ultimately die, meaning his awful plans came true. Many speculated he would immediately inherit her wealth after the season two tragedy.
Well, episode one threw us a jump-scare when Chloe (Charlotte Le Bon) points him out to Chelsea(Aimee Lou Wood). What could this mean? Is he plotting another romance scam? Also, who will avenge our beloved Tanya?
What do they say about a leopard never changes its...? We're introduced to Greg after his girlfriend Chloe starts complaining about him to Chelsea. The moments brings back horrible memories of Tanya's devastating experience of being married to him, after he pretended to be Prince Charming in series one. Quick reminder: he lied and told Tanya he had a terminal illness and she offered to pay for his treatment in response.
Except former model Chloe seems to have very little time for him. She describes him as a 'LBH', specifically one of the many 'losers back home' you find in Thailand, she claims. We learn he's been in the country for a year or so, and lives close to the White Lotus. (Why is he so obsessed with the hotel chain?)
While he seems to be laying low after possibly scamming Tanya out of her money, things could possibly blow-up if he crosses paths with Belinda, the only person who knew his ex-wife in this season. Before Tanya fell in love with Greg, she told Belinda she wanted to fund her dreams of owning her own spa. In a sickening example of self-interest and obnoxious wealth, she withdrew her life-changing offer like it was a pound coin.
Could the pair join forces to blow through the inherited wealth? Or will Belinda expose Greg's devious ploy? If we know anything from The White Lotus, it's that you'll never predict how everything unfolds.
