Everyone's favourite breakout show of 2022, _The Traitor_s, has just picked up a BAFTA Award for 'Best Reality and Constructed Factual'.

The crew collected their award at tonight's ceremony and the show's host Claudia Winkleman said: 'We are blown away by this. Thank you, you are phenomenal. Thank you so much. We had the best cast, some of whom are here tonight. We were so lucky to have you, so thank you so much.

'To the BBC and Kate Phillips, thank you so much. And Charlotte. We had a meeting with Kate and Charlotte and we said "ok, to be clear, we're going to Scotland and we've got some cloaks and we're going to be using the word murder. I've got a big roll neck and I'm holding a ceremonial pouch, are you ok with that?" and they went, "go for it".'

One of the show's creators then thanked Claudia and said she was a "huge part of the success of the show" and thanked their Dutch colleagues who allowed the team to "play with the format".

The Traitors was a word-of-mouth phenomenon at the end of 2022, with fans obsessing over the immaculate casting and production of the murder mystery game. 22 strangers gathered in a castle in Scotland with the hopes of making it to the final and winning up to £120k. It has since been viewed more than 34 million times on iPlayer, so it's no wonder the show scooped up the prize for Best Reality and Constructed Factual. We can't wait for its return!
